Oxford Terraces: A Cosmopolitan Retreat in Dubai

Located in the heart of Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC), this complete renovation of a newly constructed apartment at Oxford Terraces transformed a cold, contemporary space into a warm, inviting home with a blend of traditional charm and cosmopolitan flair. The client, a well-traveled individual with an appreciation for timeless elegance, sought to infuse the apartment with a sense of history and character.

To soften the sleek, modern feel of the space, we incorporated intricate moldings along both the ceilings and walls, adding a touch of traditional elegance to the otherwise minimalist design. The cold grey tile flooring was replaced with a rich herringbone wood floor, bringing warmth, texture, and a sense of light into the space. Inspired by the client’s love for travel, we carefully curated each room to reflect a cosmopolitan lifestyle. A grand white piano was introduced to create a focal point, adding a touch of refinement to the living area.

The apartment features a spacious 56 sqm terrace with a jacuzzi, offering ample space for outdoor entertaining. Drawing inspiration from the client's travels to Italy and France, we created a striking black-and-white theme that runs across the terrace, providing a chic, sophisticated setting ideal for hosting guests and enjoying tranquil moments.

One of the unique challenges of the project was transforming a tiny guest/study room into a cozy, welcoming oasis. By incorporating beautiful floral-patterned wallpaper and soft, inviting furniture, we created a charming space that provides guests with both comfort and style.

For the master bedroom, we embraced a moody, night club-inspired aesthetic, using deep wine reds and rich purple velvets. The queen-size bed was complemented by custom curtains that brought a sense of intimacy and sophistication, transforming the space into a luxurious, restful retreat.

The renovation of Oxford Terraces perfectly reflects the client’s cosmopolitan tastes while blending the elegance of traditional design with modern comforts, creating a home that is both stylish and welcoming.

Oxford Terrace: A French Chic Studio Retreat

This luxury studio apartment in Oxford Terraces, JVC, blends timeless French traditional style with modern elegance, creating a sophisticated and functional space. 

A custom media unit with a striking blue marble backdrop serves as the focal point, complemented by a versatile desk area designed for both work and dining. Ornate moldings on the ceiling and paneling on the walls add character and depth, while a stunning crystal chandelier elevates the room's elegance. The velvet grey bed, paired with royal blue custom velvet curtains, introduces a moody yet refined touch. 

On the terrace, bamboo plants provide privacy, and black-and-white French outdoor furniture, including a marble coffee table, enhances the chic atmosphere. 

The color palette of beige, grey, and blue flows throughout, with a large black-and-white photograph serving as a bold focal point. To balance the classic with the playful, floral-patterned wallpaper next to the media unit adds a touch of whimsy, making this studio a true Parisian-inspired retreat.

Oxford Terraces: The Black & White Terrace Revival

This expansive 56 sqm terrace, complete with a luxurious jacuzzi, was transformed into an exceptional outdoor living space designed for both relaxation and entertaining. Inspired by the client's extensive travels to Italy and France, we crafted a striking black-and-white theme that seamlessly blends sophistication with timeless elegance. 

The sleek color palette, paired with refined French-inspired furniture, sets the tone for an upscale, yet comfortable atmosphere. Carefully selected plants provide natural privacy, while the strategic layout ensures ample room for social gatherings or quiet reflection. 

This terrace becomes a true extension of the home, offering an inviting retreat for hosting guests or enjoying serene moments under the open sky.


Parisian Elegance: The Black & White Terrace Revival

Living Room

This project in Berlin presented both exciting opportunities and significant challenges. The apartment, housed in a 100+ year-old building, was dark and overcrowded, with mismatched furnishings that didn’t complement one another. The space had limited storage and suffered from issues like mold and aging windows, particularly given its north-facing orientation. Additionally, the home lacked a designated office space, a necessity that became increasingly apparent due to the demands of remote work during the pandemic.

The client’s vision was to transform the apartment into a bright, colorful, and functional living space that still respected the building's Victorian charm. We started by creating a seamless flow between the living room, kitchen, and office—areas that had previously felt disconnected and cramped. We embraced a modern yet respectful approach to the Victorian aesthetic, blending contemporary elements with the building’s traditional bones.

One of the key challenges was the kitchen, which was located at the entrance and lacked any form of separation from the entryway. To address this, we designed an elegant anthracite-colored bar with a striking golden countertop. This feature not only solved the functional issue but also added a touch of sophistication, creating a new social hub where guests now gather to enjoy cocktails, particularly martinis.

The apartment’s original architecture was beautiful, but it lacked the typical crown moldings and detailing common in buildings of its era. To give the space an authentic Parisian flair, we had custom moldings crafted for each room, ensuring that the traditional charm was fully restored.

Another significant hurdle was the tight project timeline. With only two weeks between the start of renovation and the move-in date, we worked efficiently to ensure everything was completed on time—a feat that stands as one of the project's proudest achievements.

Overall, this project was incredibly rewarding. The client entrusted us with the freedom to bring her vision to life, and the result is a bright, welcoming home that combines the charm of a historic building with the functionality and energy of a modern living space. The transformation of this once-dark, fragmented apartment into a cohesive, vibrant home was truly a labor of love.

For this project in Cologne, we were tasked with designing a single guest bedroom that blends traditional design elements with a modern, youthful twist. Our goal was to create a space that feels timeless yet fresh, combining classic features with contemporary touches to make the room both inviting and stylish.

We began by selecting a warm, neutral color palette as the foundation for the room—rich, earthy tones that evoke a sense of comfort and relaxation. The traditional design was highlighted through classic furniture pieces with refined detailing, such as a beautifully crafted wooden bed frame and a vintage-inspired armchair. 

The use of the classic chandelier, statement lamps and carefully chosen accent lighting, brings a sense of sophistication while enhancing the overall atmosphere. Subtle art pieces and decorative accessories tie the room together, adding personality without overwhelming the space.

This balanced fusion of old and new creates a welcoming, stylish guest bedroom that feels both familiar and fresh—perfect for visitors who appreciate tradition with a modern flair.
